Names and phone number on the collar save everyone a lot of stress
What does a name tag collar bring?
Who hasn't experienced the sudden disappearance of their dog, leading to stress? As an owner, you imagine the worst situations, even though it usually turns out well. I personally remember an incident with our Wilhelm, who would never have run away from home on his own. In the weeks prior, we had practiced a lot of person searches, and one day he thought he needed to look for me at the train station in our town, where I had taken the train before. I was so relieved that someone saw Wilhelm and could immediately call me on the number listed on his collar, and we were with the dog within minutes. If my number hadn't been on his collar, the dog would have first had to be taken to a veterinarian, and there they would have had to read the chip (who can quickly put a Great Dane in a car???). All of this would have been a much greater stress for both the animal and the human.
A passerby who finds the dog can call it better with a clearly recognizable name on the collar. Even if the dog does not know the person, it is more likely to allow itself to be touched if that person knows its name.
Therefore my conclusion is: always include a name and phone number on the collar. This can be done with a Velcro patch with the name or with a tag on the collar, an engraving on a dog tag, or even on a tracing chip. Our Velcro patches can be embroidered with the phone number, come by and check it out...
